Each country and US state has a spot to put a pin on it to mark when you've visited that place. They have a set of pins available with the national and state flags, and they are such high quality! It's so much fun to have a visual representation of all your travels in this way.
Setting up the map takes a few hours, but it's a lot of fun. You get a geography lesson while putting up all the many pieces of wood.
