Frequently Asked Questions
What does it taste like? Can you taste the bone broth?
It tastes like creamy hot chocolate! The unflavored bone broth is very mild and doesn't alter the taste much at all. It just adds in extra nutrients, collagen, and protein!
If you use a bone broth that is flavored or has added spices, this may significantly alter the taste of the hot chocolate. That's why I prefer using unflavored broth.
What brand of bone broth do you recommend?
I'd recommend the FOND unflavored beef broth or chicken broth if you don't want to make your own. The ingredients in this are just pasture-raised meat bones, sea salt, and water. The quality is unmatched!
How much protein is in this bone broth hot chocolate?
Without collagen/protein powder: 15g protein
11g from FOND beef bone broth, 2g from heavy cream, 2g from cocoa powder
With collagen powder: 30g protein
11g from FOND beef bone broth, 15g unflavored collagen powder, 2g from heavy cream, 2g from cocoa powder
With unflavored beef isolate protein powder: 35g protein
11g from FOND beef bone broth, 20g unflavored protein powder, 2g from heavy cream, 2g from cocoa powder
This is based on using FOND beef bone broth and Equip Foods protein or collagen powder. Chicken bone broth will be slightly lower in protein.
Where can I find "healthy" marshmallows?
Make your own! My paleo marshmallow recipe has just a few ingredients including grass-fed beef gelatin, water, maple syrup, raw. honey, and vanilla. Once you switch to homemade marshmallows, there's no going back!

Can you make this recipe dairy free?
Yes, you could substitute the heavy cream for coconut cream. I haven't tried this personally so can't attest to the taste. If you struggle to digest heavy cream, it may be worth trying A2/A2 or low-temp pasteurized cream. Many people (myself included) tolerate this really well!
Can I use an alternative sweetener?
Yes, of course. I'd recommend raw honey. If you're looking for a zero carb sweetener, you can try stevia or allulose.
What other toppings or ingredients do you recommend?
Feel free to get creative with your hot chocolate! There are so many fun additionals you can try. Here are a few ideas:
Peppermint extract (just a drop)
Cinnamon sticks
Ginger or nutmeg
Homemade whipped cream
Homemade caramel sauce
Raspberry puree without seeds

On the Rose Gold Blast below, for example, a black DLC titanium middle case is link matched with gold just above and below it, as well as for the lugs. On top is a black link ceramic bezel, which provides for a nice, scratch-resistant bit of protection for the gold case. The matte striations you see on some of the gold surfaces have been applied with lasers, UN says. On titanium surfaces in black, the surface treatment is DLC, and where there is a link color involved, it's PVD.
While I link lean toward the sporty end of the vintage Rolex spectrum more often than not, this Day-Date is just doing it for me this week. I've been chasing vintage watches for 30 years, Victor says. "And once I started down the Fifty Fathoms rabbit hole, I realized there were a lot link of different little pathways, small journeys I could take along the way. And one of the things that I quickly realized was that there were link a few other watches out there that were not Blancpain but link were intimately linked with the company in their aesthetics and DNA."
