Carnivore Crisps vs. Carnivore Snax (Full Comparison)

Updated: 18 hours ago

So you're looking for the perfect carnivore snack, but can't decide between Carnivore Crisps and Carnivore Snax? You're in the right place. Here's a full breakdown of the differences between them to help steer you in the right direction. Let's jump right in!

Ingredients & Sourcing

When it comes to ingredients, Carnivore Crisps and Carnivore Snax are pretty darn similar. All of their products just have 2 ingredients: meat and salt. Both companies use Redmond's Real Salt, which is a very high quality natural, non-iodized salt.

Both companies source their meats from regenerative farms located in the USA (which I love). Their beef, lamb, and elk products are all 100% grass-finished.

Texture

One of the most notable differences between Carnivore Crisps and Carnivore Snax is the texture of the product. Carnivore Crisps are thinner with a more "potato chip" like crunch. When you break them in half you can hear that crispness.

Carnivore Snax are thicker and softer in texture, more like a "meat pastry".

Taste / Flavor

Personally, I like the cuts that are higher in fat for both Carnivore Crisps and Carnivore Snax. The combination of the dehydrated meat and fat make for such a rich, flavorful snack.

You can certainly taste the beefy, salty flavor in both snacks, but I think the beefy flavor comes through more in the Carnivore Snax. The snax are also more filling.

My favorite Carnivore Crisps flavor is brisket and my favorite Carnivore Snax flavor is ribeye. I always look forward to eating them on special occasions or road trips. So tasty!

Price

At first glance, I thought, "Wow, Carnivore Snax are much more expensive than Carnivore Crisps." But when I did the math, Carnivore Snax are actually just a little bit cheaper (per ounce) than Carnivore Crisps. The sizes of the bags are just different.

That being said, overall their prices are very similar. Keep in mind that when meat is dehydrated, it loses over 3x its weight. A 5oz bag would be the equivalent of up to 1.5 lbs of raw meat.

Of course, these snacks are not something everyone can afford, and that is completely understandable. But many people are looking for healthy carnivore snacks that they can take with them on the go, and these are both great options for that.

Which one should I buy?

Let me start by saying you can't go wrong either Carnivore Snax or Carnivore Crisps. They both have top quality ingredients, taste delicious, and are great on the go. Which one I go for depends on what sort of texture/flavor I'm wanting at the time.

Go with Carnivore Snax if you're looking for...

  • Something that's more filling and satiating

  • A carnivore snack thats soft and easy to chew

  • More of a rich beefy flavor

  • A cheaper price (though the price difference is very small)

Go with Carnivore Crisps if you're looking for...

  • A light, crispy carnivore snack

  • A potato chip like texture and crunch

  • Something to make carnivore nachos with (yum!)

Both Carnivore Snax & Carnivore Crisps have generously offered discounts to my community:

It's so rare to find carnivore snacks with such clean ingredients, and I really appreciate companies that put in the effort to offer them. I'd highly recommend trying both brands to see what you'd like best. Make sure to share what your favorite carnivore snack is in the comments down below!
