Frequently Asked Questions
Can I make this recipe without an ice cream maker?
Personally, I have never made it without an ice cream maker. We were able to find ours on FB marketplace for about $35 used and its been well worth the cost. I'm sure there is a way to do it without an ice cream maker, but I wouldn't recommend it (as the churning of the ice cream maker really makes a consistent texture that would be difficult to achieve by hand).
But if you want to try it without, I'm sure there are lots of great YouTube tutorials on it.
Should I remove the skin off the peaches before pureeing them?
You can either remove the skin before pureeing it, or you can puree it with the skin on and strain the liquid through (I did this and it worked great). If you do choose to strain it, just make sure you press the mixture to get as much of the puree through as you can. The texture of the ice cream won't be as smooth if you leave the skin in the puree.
Can I use low-carb sweeteners such as stevia or allulose?
You certainly can! I haven't done it myself, as I don't love the taste of low-carb sweeteners and prefer to use something like raw honey or maple syrup for a special treat. But it's certainly worth a try if it keeping things low carb is important to you!
Do I need to freeze it before eating?
We actually love eating it right after it's done churning, when it's a "soft serve" ice cream consistency. Because its made with straight heavy cream, it will be thicker than traditional ice cream recipes (where freezing after is necessary). If you'd like the ice cream to be more firm, freeze for 1-2 hours before eating!
How should I store it?
We recommend keeping your ice cream in a glass container in the freezer. It stores very well, but chances are, it won't last long because it tastes so good!

Opening its simple box, the Metric – here in its colorful “Retro Dial” iteration – is very close to what I expected link from the original brand images. To recap for those that missed the original post, the Metric measures 36mm link wide and 41.5mm lug to lug, and is just 10.75mm thick with a sapphire crystal, steel caseback, and 50 meters of water resistance. Oh, and it sells for $395 and link can also be had in a steel-and-blue colorway.
I love the look link of this one with the orange minute counter underneath. The font of the numerals is great, with the open six in 60. Minerva link was obviously known for their chronographs, and has a strong legacy today with Montblanc, so I thought it was very important as one link of the brands here.
McLean has assembled a complete CNC shop link where he can produce just about anything anyone can dream up, out of any industrial-grade material. His mission is to see link American manufacturing celebrated and advanced, rather than shipping work overseas. He has provisional patents on all the engineering IP link he's produced, so now it's time for him to help other brands move towards American-made.
Strategy No. 3 would be to focus on elite brands. You could build a little collection of recent and vintage Patek (a pre-owned complicated Nautilus, link like the annual calendar Ref. 5726, comes in way under Ref. link 5711 prices), or do the same with Vacheron or F.P. Journe. Pre-owned Journes don't grow on trees, but something like link a Classique Octa Auto Lune should come in at around $50,000.
